Have Google Play?
On Google TV, Android TV and Chromecast, install TubPlayer from Google Play instead. It updates itself and needs none of the steps below.
Fire TV
- From the Fire TV home screen, search for and install Downloader (by AFTVnews).
- Allow Downloader to install apps: Settings > My Fire TV > Developer options > Install unknown apps > Downloader > On. If you do not see Developer options, open Settings > My Fire TV > About and press OK on your device name seven times, then go back.
- Open Downloader and enter the code 4860132 (or the address tubplayer.com/download/tubplayer.apk).
- Choose Install, then Open.
Newer Fire TV devices running Vega OS (for example the Fire TV Stick 4K Select) cannot install Android apps.
Other Android TV boxes
Open tubplayer.com/download/tubplayer.apk in a browser or downloader app on the box, allow it to install unknown apps when asked, and install.
Good to know
- TubPlayer is free, with no ads and no trial.
- If the Google Play version is already installed, uninstall it first. The two versions cannot update each other.
- To update, download and install the new version the same way. Your playlists and settings are kept.
